Spanish Week at Oakview Academy
Food is such an important part of our lives, We eat 3 meals a day for the rest of our lives. It must be included as major life skill but gets totally neglected because its easy to be convenient. This is a battle that we will continue to fight because cooking is a rare skill these days. Marquarts take great pride in educating children's flavour palettes. Flavour is a subject I get so excited about. Its an endless road of discovery and mystery. It also is a great way to flex creativity.
Albondigas, patatas bravas & spinach and chickpea falafel went down a storm at Oakview academy this week. I love getting involved in the day to day and making interesting and new meals for the children. Its so rewarding to see smiles on their faces and most of all empty plates. The school cooks also get to learn new skills which will further develop their creativity. Its a brilliant exercise all round.
We have a few more theme days to go by the end of term Including a BBQ day which we are very excited about.
